Contrary to popular belief in the West, the dish “Singapore noodles” does not exist in Singapore, nor is it a cultural product of Singapore.

According to Wikipedia, “Its naming may have been based on the stereotype that Singapore cuisine is generally spicy, and might have originated from an enterprising restauranteur eager to add a dash of exoticism to his menu.”
