A night out with friends

It all started at Serangoon Station. I waited there at 5:30PM, on the dot, for everyone else. It took about half an hour before every one arrived and we began to set off. Our first stop, Wheelock Place, along the Orchard shopping belt, was such a let down. The store that we wanted to get to closed down.

So we took a short bus trip to Dhoby Gaught, and made our way to Fish & Co at The Glass House. There was a queue forming outside the restaurant, but we stood in line anyway. Fifteen minutes past, and we’re still in that line. When we were finally at the front, the floor manager told us that the restaurant was full, and that there were no tables. They however told us that we were put on their waiting list, and we could wait inside. We sat down at the lounge next to a table with stacks of gossip magazines. Half and hour past since we arrived and we still couldn’t get a table. We were all so hungry that we forgot we were hungry (if that makes sense). We left the restaurant shortly after.

Still hungry, we took a short walk to the Shopping Centre opposite. We roamed around looking for a place to eat, but they were all full. In the end we ended up eating McDonald’s. Yes, of all places. But we didn’t have much choice anyway. Once we were all done, we decided to go to Clarke Quay for dessert, which is just a short train ride away.

We had this Japanese specialty ice cream for desert… which we indulged in outside, facing the Singapore River. It was so relaxing. The beautiful lights sparkling everywhere, reflecting surfaces gracefully. After taking a load of pictures, we headed back home.
