Lee Clow has decided to step down from his post as Chief Creative Officer at Apple’s advertising agency, TBWA/Media Arts Lab.
In his more than 40 years in advertising, he is best known for his work for Apple, which includes what many have called the best commercial of all time, “1984”, that launched the Macintosh computer; the now iconic dancing silhouettes for the iPod; and the more recent “Mac vs. PC” campaign featuring actors John Hodgman and Justin Long.

When I saw that Yasmin Ahmad was the number 1 trending topic on Twitter, this advertisement which she directed for Singapore’s Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports, immediately came to mind.
She is a highly accliamed filmmaker in South East Asia and has been reported to have collapsed while giving a presentation at a TV station and was taken to hospital. Hopefully, she recovers well.

Shot using 200 cameras, and costing £3 million, this new commercial from Toshiba employs a new filming technique dubbed “timesculpture“, an evolution of the “bullet time” method made famous by The Matrix. I’m very impressed.

My problem with tumblr
I’m going to get a lot of shit for this but, hey, at least I’m expressing myself, which is basically the point of this post.
When I first ran into tumblr a while back I saw it as a potential way to really be able to take blogging to the next level. A cross between a social-networking website and blogspot. When I got around to finally use it was just a place for people to post pictures along with a clever or ‘deep’ caption.
